WELCOME TO REGENSBURG INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL 
                                                         

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Regensburg International School.

On Thursday 20 May we were delighted to receive our authorization for secondary education up to grade 9 from the government of the Oberpfalz. This is an important step towards realizing our goal of becoming an International Baccalaureate World School, committed to offering a high quality, challenging, international education from preschool to grade 12.

In October 2009 RIS became a candidate school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the IB. We are now in our trial implementation phase, which is required as part of the application process for authorization to offer the PYP. 

In some years, as the school grows, we plan to pursue authorization for the IB Diploma Programme. This leads to a qualification that is recognized by leading universities around the world.

We believe that parent participation is critical and we look forward to working with all our parents and developing a strong partnership to support the academic, social and emotional growth of their children.

The school, which is a non-profit organization, meets the needs of a growing international community and promotes the economic development of Regensburg and Eastern Bavaria.

The school project was initiated by the city of Regensburg, the administrative district of Regensburg, the Regensburg Chamber of Commerce (IHK), many well known companies (e.g. Areva, Continental, Infineon, Krones, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, Osram) and  Regensburg University and the University of Applied Sciences. The project was guided and supervised by Stadtmarketing Regensburg e.V. (City Marketing Regensburg).
