WELCOME TO REGENSBURG INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL 
                                                         

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Regensburg International School.

The children's education and well-being are at the heart of everything we do at RIS. We want our children to learn, to learn with pleasure and enthusiasm. We want them to understand what they are learning, and we are committed to developing children's inquiring minds, so that they can think critically and creatively.

In October 2009 RIS became a candidate school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the IB. We are now in our trial implementation phase, which is required as part of the application process for authorization to offer the PYP and become an IB World School. This school year, we hope to have our pre-authorization visit from the IB.

In some years, as the school grows, we plan to pursue authorization for the IB Diploma Programme. This leads to a qualification that is recognized by leading universities around the world.

We believe that parent participation is critical and we look forward to working with all our parents and developing a strong partnership to support the intellectual, personal, social and emotional growth of their children.

If you are considering RIS as a possibility for your child and would like to know more about the school, you are invited to come to one of our information meetings in 2012. They will be on:

*Saturday 11 February at 10.00 (child care provided)

The school, which is a non-profit organization, meets the needs of a growing international community and promotes the economic development of Regensburg and Eastern Bavaria.

The school project was initiated by the city of Regensburg, the administrative district of Regensburg, the Regensburg Chamber of Commerce (IHK), many well known companies (e.g. Areva, Continental, Infineon, Krones, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, Osram) and  Regensburg University and the University of Applied Sciences. The project was guided and supervised by Stadtmarketing Regensburg e.V. (City Marketing Regensburg).
